The Cuvée ’85 is a once-in-a-lifetime sparkling release that bridges four decades of our winery's pioneering sparkling wine legacy. Crafted from the elegant 2021 Brut, its final dosage was created with our very first sparkling wine - the legendary 1985 Brut.

55% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, 5% Pinot Meunier. Brilliant in the glass, the Cuvée ’85 offers aromas of citrus blossom, baked apple, and almond biscotti. The palate reveals a lively mousse and flavors of lemon curd, pear, and honeycomb, with a delicate toasty finish, an elegant balance of youthful energy and mature grace. Enjoy now, or age for 40 more years.

VINEYARD NOTES

The grapes for our sparkling wines are located on separate plots on our Keuka Estate vineyards. These vineyards were planted by Willy Frank in 1980 with the sole purpose of producing sparkling wines.

The Cuvée ’85 is more than just a blend of wines, it is a blend of time, family, and craftsmanship. By marrying the bright vitality of the 2021 Brut with the rare, aged complexity of the original 1985 Brut, this wine carries the voices of both past and present in every glass. The result is a sparkling wine that is at once vibrant and fresh, yet layered with decades of history. This release also marks current sparkling winemaker Eric Bauman’s 20th vintage with the winery, a milestone that underscores the continuity of passion and expertise across generations.
