Grape Nursery
Before arriving in the United States Dr. Konstantin Frank wrote his Ph.D. thesis on the subject of growing Vitis Vinifera in a cold climate. In 1962 with this knowledge he became the pioneer grower of Vitis Vinifera in the Eastern United States and Dr. Frank's Vinifera Wine Cellars was born. His grandson's Frederick Frank and Eric Volz continue this legacy, the third generation to do so, and provide the industry with the best possible grafted vines.
Our nursery has a large selection of rootstock that has been specially selected for cool climate growing conditions for sale. In addition we also have available selected clones of Vinifera varieties that have survived 30 years of subzero winters including the Riesling Clone N90. The wines we make from these clones have won countless awards in both national and international wine competitions and we proudly offer them for sale to you.
