Dr. Frank Late Harvest Bunch Select Riesling 2008

VINIFICATION:

Dr. Frank first produced this trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) style wine in 1962 and the 2008 season had the perfect growing conditions to repeat this achievement. It is made from Botrytis infected Riesling raisins that produce a wine like a nectar from the Gods. The grapes were hand selected, crushed and then allowed to macerate on the skins for fifteen hours. They were then pressed, cold settled and filtered. The wine then went through a slow cool fermentation for sixty days. It was then cold stabilized and filtered again in mid December.

DESCRIPTION:

The 2008 Bunch Select Late Harvest Riesling presents a nose of dried apricot and caramel followed by wonderful tastes of honey and fruit common with the noble rot. This superb wine will age well and makes the perfect companion to bleu cheese, strawberries and cream or caramelized pears.

ANALYSIS:

Alcohol: 8.8%
