Dr. Frank Chardonnay 2007




VINIFICATION:

The Chardonnay grapes were picked during the cool early hours of the morning and then whole bunch pressed to maximize freshness. A proportion of the free run juice was fermented in French oak barrels whilst the remainder in stainless steel vats. A small percentage of the barrel-fermented portion under went malo-lactic fermentation whilst all barrels were aged for ten months. The fine balance of all parcels were then selected and blended to make this traditional style wine.

DESCRIPTION:

The nose on the 2007 Chardonnay begins with an intense blend of citrus and lime.  The mouth has a crisp zest of lime that is carried by the acidity before finishing off with a hint of oak. The '07 Chardonnay will continue to develop layers of nuances for years to come and exemplifies the food friendly style that we strive for at Dr. Frank's. Serve with Salmon, roasted chicken, cheeses and cream sauces.
