Dr. Frank 2005 Riesling Reserve
VINIFICATION:
This particular blend was assembled from lots that exemplify the floral and mineral characters that Dr. Frank’s Rieslings are known for. All lots were fermented at low temperature, racked and left with the light lees. The lees were occasionally stirred to increase the body of the wine and improve the mouthfeel. Finally the blend was cold stabilized, filtered and adjusted for bottling. DESCRIPTION: This Riesling, presenting a green gold hue, displays the traditional qualities of Dr. Frank’s Riesling: crisp acidity, a pronounced mineral character and layers of fruit aromas. Descriptors include apple, pear, citrus and various floral notes. The wine displays good balance between the acidity, alcohol and sugar and the wine leaves a long, clean finish. This special bottling was left dry to enhance its potential as a food wine. ANALYSIS: Alcohol: 12.8%
