Dr. Frank Reserve Gewurztraminer 2007 VINIFICATION: The grapes were handpicked, destemmed and set for 48 hours on cool skin contact. They were then gently pressed, cold settled and fermented for three months at a very low temperature with special Gewürztraminer yeast to preserve the maximum amount of flavors. After three months the fermentation was stopped to retain a fair amount of it’s own residual sugars. The wine was stabilized, filtered and bottled in early May 2008. DESCRIPTION: This 2007 is an extraordinary full-bodied wine with an abundance of fruit and a delightful sweet finish. The nose is dominated by rose aromas and the other spices associated with Gewurztraminer. Tasting notes include grapefruit, lime, lychee and banana with mineral tones and long clean, crisp finish. Enjoy this wine with Asian, Indian, Northern Italian and other fiery dishes. ANALYSIS: Alcohol: 11.1% BACK TO THE TOP |
