Salmon Run Chardonnay 2006 2006 was a vintage that favors white cool climate varieties with cool and moist growing conditions during both Summer and Fall. The Chardonnay grapes were picked early October with good ripeness. The grapes were crushed, pressed and the juice was cold settled. Close to half of the volume was fermented in predominantly French oak barrels and the rest was fermented in stainless steel tanks. This practice makes the Salmon Run Chardonnay lighter, fruitier with a less oak dominated character. The Chardonnay was blended, cold stabilized, filtered and adjusted for bottling.
DESCRIPTION:
Salmon Run Chardonnay is named in honor of the prized freshwater salmon which thrive in Keuka Lake. This wine delivers clean apple and pear flavors with a minimal oak aroma. The low price should bring a smile to the face of cost-conscious Chardonnay lovers. BACK TO THE TOP |
